Denver Botanic Gardens will host its award-winning Wedding Showcase on Friday, Sept. 16, from
5-9 p.m. More than 50 wedding professionals will be available in locations throughout the Gardens. From wedding planning and formalwear to food, wine and floral design, the Gardens’ Wedding Showcase offers solutions to all types of wedding needs. In addition, there are great prize giveaways. Last year awards included three wedding sites and more than 30 gifts and prizes!
New this year: The wedding showcase has added two new features: ”The Man Lounge” and dance instruction. “The Man Lounge” will have video games, 50″ flat screen TVs and vendors featuring information on adventures like rock climbing. Dance instructors will be on hand to teach the latest salsa, tango and line-dancing moves.

Green events are popping up everywhere and not just in gardens. Meeting and event planners are digging deeper to have sustainable events. Here are a few tips to make your event greener:
- Choose edible centerpieces.
- Serve local foods.
- Text invitations to guests.
- Reuse name badges.
- Coordinate with food banks to donate left-overs.
- Have your event during the day – use natural lighting.

We had a wonderful summer of weddings here at Denver Botanic Gardens. I am really looking forward to seeing some of the latest trends for weddings and receptions for 2011.
I’ve seen quite a few weddings now, and I think it’s fair to say we should all be on the same page as far as what’s hot and what’s not for weddings in 2011.

5-9 p.m. More than 40 wedding professionals will be available in locations throughout the Gardens. From wedding planning and formalwear to food, wine and floral design, the Gardens’ Wedding Showcase offers solutions to all types of wedding needs.
Brides can find the dresses of their dreams, see photographers work and get a preview of Denver Botanic Gardens one-of-a-kind wedding sites. Additionally, we are offering the opportunity to pre-book 2011 wedding dates at Denver Botanic Gardens on that day. That’s two weeks before we open our books to the public.
The wedding showcase is an event that makes it simple for brides to plan their entire wedding. Each bride’s passport enters her into a drawing for fabulous prizes including a free wedding site or reception site at Denver Botanic Gardens.

Just married, Stefanie Huff and Mathew Schultz on May 15, 2010. The wedding ceremony took place at the All-American Selections Garden and the reception took place in the historic Mitchell Hall. Wedding colors were sage green and fuchsia with white and pink lilies. This special event was catered by Catering by Design and flowers were from Brilliant Blooms.
